Meet Scout, a handsome 45 lb German Shepherd Dog mix with an estimated birthday of April 13, 2025. Scout might be a little shy when you first meet him, but don't let that fool you! Once he warms up, his love is absolutely unconditional. He's a fun-loving pup who enjoys zooming around and playing with his foster siblings, both human and canine. On those lazy days, he's a champion cuddler and loves to snuggle up on the couch. Scout was rescued from a city shelter where he was facing euthanasia due to overcrowding, a fate he didn't deserve as a happy and healthy puppy. Now, he's eager to find his forever home and share his boundless affection.
Ideal Home
Scout would love a home where he can run and play, and also enjoy quiet time snuggling. He does well with other dogs and children.

- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
- We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed about tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
- Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year.
- Listed breed and age are based on a best-guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption.
- Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.
- All of our adopters are invited to join our Alum Pupdates Facebook group, to share their story and their adorable pup with fellow Sunnyside Street Dogs adopters!

Scout is located in Houston, TX. Transport is included in the adoption fee and can be arranged to your state or a neighboring state.
