Meet Misko, a shy but sweet Husky mix who is ready to find her forever family! This approximately 45 lb, 11-month-old lady is a beautiful black and tan and is looking for a patient and understanding home to help her blossom. Misko came into our care with her brother and was initially very shut down. While she has opened up with him around, he can be a bit dominant, and she shows some food guarding tendencies towards him (they are fed separately to manage this). Despite her cautious nature, Misko is a loving pup who enjoys chew toys and is making great progress with her house and crate training.
Ideal Home
Misko would thrive in a quiet home with a patient and experienced adopter who understands that building trust takes time. She needs a home with a fully fenced yard and would do best with a calm, confident, and older resident dog to show her the ropes. She can be around calm children, but is not suited for apartment living. She is still working on allowing gentle handling and touch.
Ongoing Health
Misko has been treated for tapeworms. She is not yet spayed.
Training & Support
Misko is house-trained and crate-trained. She is working on leash walking and building trust for handling. She has not shown any reactivity to people or dogs on leash yet, but is still building confidence. She loves her chew toys and can be a bit of a flight risk, so caution is required. She does exhibit food aggression towards her brother, but not towards people.
