Cleo is a sweet, 4-year-old, 30 lb. mixed breed girl with a heart full of gratitude and a spirit ready for adventure! Rescued in November 2023 after an accident, Cleo bravely healed from a leg fracture. While she walks with a slight wobble, she has no special needs and is perfectly healthy and happy to be alive. Cleo is described as loyal, grateful, shy, loving, calm, and well-behaved. She's also great in the car, on leash, and crate trained, making her a wonderfully adaptable companion.
Ideal Home
Cleo would thrive in a home that is willing to give her at least three months to show her full personality. An active family that enjoys daily walks or hiking would be a great fit. A fenced backyard is preferred. Families should have an open mind about the needs of rescued street animals and understand their need for protection and education. Experience in dog behavior and training is beneficial, as is high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies. Please note, Cleo is not house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Cleo has been spayed/neutered and is up-to-date on her DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines. She has been dewormed, tested negative for heartworm, and received a negative 4DX test. She is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventative for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. She has a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Cleo is not house-trained and will require dedicated effort in this area. As she is still learning to trust and settle into her new life, patience and understanding are key.

- Please complete our online application thoroughly to help us find the perfect match for your lifestyle and family dynamic.
- Following application approval, a phone/email interview will be scheduled, potentially including the foster parent.
- A home check (virtual or in-person) will be conducted to ensure a suitable environment.
- A virtual "meet n greet" will be arranged to introduce you to Cleo and allow us to assess your home environment.
- A trial adoption period will follow, with clear instructions for integration. If it doesn't work out, your adoption fee will be refunded, minus any applicable transport fees, and Cleo will be returned to a foster home.
Transportation
Cleo is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast of the US on our cross-country transport. The transport fee of $400.00 will be paid by the adopter prior to departure and includes delivery to your home address.
