Artie

Artie is a handsome boy with a charming underbite, estimated to be around 9 years old and weighing approximately 64.6 lbs. He was transferred to us under difficult circumstances and initially was quite scared. Through patience and positive reinforcement with treats and can food, Artie has learned to trust us and will even take food from your hand! He's also made friends with the other dogs here and enjoys playing with them. Artie was once adopted by a young boy, but he was returned due to being terrified of storms and being left alone. He can break out of crates and will try to escape a house if left by himself. He is also frightened by gunshots and fireworks.

Ideal Home

Artie would thrive in a home with a patient owner who is home a lot. He needs other dogs to play with and a large, securely fenced area to explore. He is not a fan of storms, gunshots, or fireworks.

Ongoing Health

Artie was neutered prior to his transfer and was heartworm negative on 9/1/17.

Training & Support

Artie is still skittish around new people and needs continued positive reinforcement to build confidence. He is known to get into treat bags if they are not sealed.
