Mike, a 4-year-old Dachshund mix, has a truly remarkable story of resilience and love. He and his siblings were once abandoned, but Mike was found injured with a dislocated jaw. After receiving treatment and finding a loving family, he lived a happy life for four years. Unfortunately, a recent back injury led to a diagnosis of Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). This condition causes the discs in his spine to deteriorate, making them prone to injury from impacts like jumping. While surgery is an option, it's expensive with no guaranteed outcome. Mike's family, who adore him, found it impossible to manage his ongoing care with their home, yard, and work schedules, so he's now back with his original foster, Tammy. He's receiving acupuncture treatments from Dr. Martin a few times a week and has special equipment like a chair and a drag bag to help him. Mike is a loving boy who is good with kids and dogs.
Ideal Home
