HICKORY

Hickory is a smart and extremely sweet mixed-breed boy who has been with our rescue since he was a pup, and he recently celebrated his second birthday with us! Weighing around 60lbs, Hickory seems to do best with women, though he has also been comfortable with the husband in his foster home. He enjoys playing outdoors with his brother and the foster dogs he knows. Hickory can be protective of his kennel and food, which is understandable given he came to us starving, but these are easily managed behaviors. He has experience on a larger property and has even been observed playing well with a young goat. We are unsure how he would do with cats. Hickory is crate and house-trained when kept on a schedule. His adoption fee is $250. We do offer a discount if you are considering adopting him and his brother, Wally.

Ideal Home

Hickory will need a home with at least a 6-foot privacy fence, as he is an escape artist and can climb chain-link fences.

Training & Support

Hickory can resource guard his kennel and is food protective. These behaviors are easily managed and stem from his past. He is already crate and house-trained when kept on a schedule.
