Niko Bear the Easy Going Sweetheart

Niko Bear looks like he belongs in an action movie, with his rugged good looks and imposing size. But don't let his tough exterior fool you! Underneath it all, he's a giant teddy bear with a heart of pure gold. He's approximately 4 years old, weighs around 74 lbs, and is believed to be a Pittie/Shepherd mix. Niko has a wonderfully calm and easygoing nature, preferring to mosey through life at his own pace. He's not one to demand attention; instead, he'll quietly lean into you for affection once he's comfortable, melting your heart with his sweet, soulful eyes.

Ideal Home

Niko would be happiest in a home with a backyard where he can enjoy the outdoors at his leisure. He would also do well with another dog that enjoys companionship without needing a constant playmate.

Ongoing Health

Niko is a healthy boy who has been fully vetted, including vaccinations, deworming, and flea/heartworm prevention.

Training & Support

Niko is potty trained and has excellent house manners. He is still building confidence with crate training but is showing daily improvement. He is working on his leash skills and is becoming more comfortable.

Niko is currently located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue-run, USDA-certified transport system, ensuring safe and comfortable travel. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada (pick-up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You can track your pet's journey in real-time and receive photo updates. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
