Joseph is an approximately 7.5-year-old, 20 lb Terrier mix with a heart of gold and a playful spirit! He came to us after being found injured, but he's all healed up and ready to leave his past behind. JoeJoe is a true lap dog who loves nothing more than snuggling up close, especially under the covers! He's a big fan of treats and will put on quite a show for them, enjoying healthy snacks like blueberries, bananas, apples, tomatoes, celery, peas, and carrots. He gets incredibly excited for walks, and his favorite toys are small, squeaky lamb chops – though he's also mastered the "destuff and squeak" technique with other toys. While he may look like an old man, Joseph is a playful pup who enjoys playtime with humans, by himself, or with his doggy friends. He's outgoing and loves everyone he meets!
Ideal Home
Joseph would love a home with a securely fenced yard for him to explore and enjoy squirrel and bird watching. While he loves dogs, he is selective and does not like medium or large dogs. He gravitates towards small female dogs and can be very particular even with them, but once he finds a small female friend, he's incredibly loyal and will play, wrestle, and protect them. Joseph must meet every dog in the home before adoption.
Ongoing Health
Joseph is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and current on heartworm preventative. He is also microchipped.
Training & Support
Joseph is crate trained, leash trained, and potty trained. He has also come to enjoy using a doggy door. He is a pro at cuddling and expects to sleep under the covers at night. A notable quirk is his strong dislike for nail trims; he puts on a very dramatic performance to avoid them. We recommend leaving nail trims to the professionals unless you're looking to create viral content!
