Niko

Niko is a handsome young Belgian Shepherd (Groenendael type) looking for a fresh start after losing the only family he had ever known. Sadly, he arrived at the shelter after his owner passed away, and the remaining family was unable to take him in. During his first year of life, Niko's world was quite small. Most of his time was spent with his owner and at the campground where they lived, so he hasn't had many opportunities to explore the world. Despite this, he has met children and a few dogs, giving him a good foundation for learning how to interact with them. Niko is a friendly, affectionate boy who can get a little carried away when he's excited and may jump up to greet people. This intelligent, active, and sensitive breed requires an owner who understands their needs or is willing to learn. With patience, consistency, and the time to build his confidence, Niko will truly show his wonderful personality. He is a loyal dog with so much potential, just waiting for someone to invest in him and help him become the incredible companion we know he can be.

Ideal Home

A home with children 8 years of age or older. Applicants should be prepared to provide the physical exercise, mental stimulation, structure, and ongoing training that will help Niko thrive.
