Meet Sparta! She's a 7-year-old Terrier/Pit Bull mix weighing around 67 lbs. Sparta has a strong, stocky build and a calm, slower-paced personality. As a senior dog, she's currently in the important decompression stage as she adjusts to a new environment. New sounds, new people, new routines, and unfamiliar surroundings can feel overwhelming, and it's completely normal for dogs to appear unsure, vocal, or more reserved during this time. Sparta is already starting to show signs that she's settling in! While she can still be a bit barky as she processes her surroundings, she walks nicely on leash and enjoys getting outside. She's not a high-energy dog and would likely do best in a calm home that appreciates a more relaxed companion. We're still learning about her preferences with other dogs, but as she continues to decompress, we'll better understand what kind of environment will help her thrive. Sparta is ready for a home where she can continue to relax, feel safe, and enjoy the comfort she deserves in her golden years.
