Logan is a very sweet 5-year-old shepherd mix with a goofy, playful puppy personality. He loves people and wants to be everyone’s friend, strangers included. Even though he is a big boy at 80 lbs, he would love to climb in your lap and give kisses. He loves to be cuddled and hugged. Logan has very puppy-like energy. He loves to play with his toys, gathering all he can around him, large and small. He chews the toys but rarely destroys them. Logan also knows how to sit, shake, and give "high fives." He takes treats politely from your hand. He loves to run around, jump over things, and roll in the grass; he is truly a funny and joyful guy! He takes corrections of "no" fairly well, is a quick learner, and has adapted well to the rules in his foster home. Logan does fine with all dogs, large and small. In his previous foster home, he lived peacefully with four small and three large dogs, mostly indifferent to them but coexisting without issue. He is not reactive to small dogs barking in his face and loved going for walks with his friend Bear.
Ideal Home
Logan would love a home with people to love, cuddle, play with, and walk. Because he has moderate energy, a yard to run and play in would be ideal. Big children would be great, and he would love another dog to play and walk with, though he would also do fine as an only dog. Logan would enjoy a home where there is space to roam and play, and he'd love a person who enjoys taking him on hikes and adventures.
Ongoing Health
Logan may have experienced food deprivation in his past and can be protective of his food with other dogs. He should be fed separately. His foster mom provided extra food and treats to help him feel secure, and he was showing great improvement.
Training & Support
Logan is a talker and expresses his opinions loudly! When unhappy, he whines like a husky. He complained when separated from his foster mom or the pack but does not have separation anxiety. He does well on leash but could benefit from training to not pull, as he is a strong dog. He is curious about cats but not overly prey-driven.
