About Coraline
Coraline is a sweet, curious, and endlessly entertaining 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix who currently weighs 45 lbs and is estimated to reach 85-90 lbs when fully grown. She has a unique charm that brings laughter to her foster family daily. Coraline's favorite game is peek-a-boo, and she expresses her playful spirit with gentle, silly zoomies when her humans join in. She is deeply people-oriented and loves to be near her humans, acting as a quiet shadow throughout the day. Coraline isn't overly clingy but shows affection through sweet puppy kisses and gentle touches. She possesses a calm and balanced temperament, making her a wonderful work-from-home companion, content to entertain herself quietly. Coraline is social with both people and other dogs, greeting them calmly before happily continuing to play or explore. She's the perfect blend of playful yet laid-back, independent yet loving, and goofy yet intuitive, ready to be your little sidekick, shadow, and best friend.
Ideal Home
Coraline would thrive in a home that enjoys a mix of adventure and relaxation, from leisurely walks and cozy evenings on the couch to weekend hikes. She loves being included in her family's daily routine and would be happy with short walks and play sessions, but will also join in on longer adventures. She benefits from a family that understands she's not yet confident in busy public areas, with the potential to become a great outdoor companion with more exposure. Coraline needs a home with a fenced yard for playing and sunbathing. No apartments or condos due to her size and potential nervousness in busy areas. She must have another dog in her forever home, as she thrives with canine companionship. She could happily live with older children and cats, provided the cats are dog-friendly and have prior experience with dogs. She needs her human home more often than not, but doggy daycare a few days a week would be acceptable.
Ongoing Health
Coraline is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, has been spayed, microchipped, and is on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She has had a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and received any necessary vet care while in rescue.
Training & Support
Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained. She is still mastering leash training and needs additional practice to build confidence on walks. She is treat-motivated and will walk beside you with positive reinforcement. She alerts her foster when she needs to go outside by pacing at the back door or using a doggy door. A consistent potty schedule is recommended initially, and a doggy doorbell may be helpful if a doggy door is not available.
