Trix is an 8-month-old, approximately 35-pound, spayed female Pitbull mix with the sweetest, smartest soul. She was surrendered to a shelter with her brother and, while he has found his home, Trix needed extra time in foster care to build confidence. She was significantly undersocialized early in life and is naturally fearful of humans, but she has never shown any reactivity – she simply looks for a safe place to hide when unsure. Trix is gentle, quiet, and incredibly observant, picking things up quickly. She learned to use a doggy door within days and, with patience and intentional time spent building trust, she softens and becomes more comfortable. You might even catch her playing with toys when she thinks no one is watching, running and sunbathing with other dogs, or choosing to cuddle on the couch or sleep in bed with her humans.
Ideal Home
Trix needs a home where someone is around more often than not, as building trust takes time and consistency. She is not a ready-made confident dog and requires patience, compassion, and commitment. She has been around children and was shy at first.
Ongoing Health
Trix is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Trix is housebroken and loves her crate. She is currently learning to walk on a leash. While her history with cats is unknown, she does well with other dogs after proper acclimation and would likely thrive with a confident canine companion. Adopters without another dog should have a thoughtful plan for socialization and confidence building.
