About Nova II

Nova is a beautiful 1-year-old Lab mix with a gentle soul and a heart that's still learning that the world can be a safe place. When you first meet Nova, she may seem shy and unsure. Her past has left her cautious around new people and situations, but beneath that timid exterior is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. Give her a little patience, a little understanding, and you'll discover a snuggly companion who loves being close to her people once she feels comfortable. Nova's foster family reports that she already has some basic training under her belt, though she'll benefit from continued guidance and positive reinforcement. Nova is looking for a patient, dog-savvy home that understands healing takes time. She needs adopters who will celebrate the small victories, help her build confidence, and show her the love she may have missed out on before. This sweet girl may not be the dog who rushes up to greet you on day one, but she's the kind of dog who forms a deep, lasting bond with the people who earn her trust. Watching Nova come out of her shell is incredibly rewarding, and she's ready to find someone willing to take that journey with her. If you have room in your heart for a dog who needs a little extra patience and a lot of love, Nova just might be your perfect match.

Ongoing Health

Nova is currently being treated for Heartworm Disease. She already has a treatment plan in place, and potential adopters will have everything thoroughly reviewed. During treatment, she'll need a calm environment and restricted activity to help her recover successfully. Additionally, Nova tested positive for Ehrlichia, a tick-borne disease that many dogs respond well to with treatment. Her specific medical plan can be discussed to answer any questions about her care.
