Meet ELI! He is a gentle giant with a peaceful soul, quiet strength, and a sweet little goofy side. ELI came to us after surviving an unimaginable tragedy. He and another dog were thrown from a moving car on a highway. ELI survived but required an extended hospital stay to recover from his injuries. His resilience is nothing short of remarkable. Today, ELI is a strong but easygoing boy who enjoys yard time, long walks, interesting smells, and simply being near his people. He loves affection and happily accepts pets and attention, but he is not overly demanding. He is content to be close without needing to be the center of everything. Walks are ELI's favorite part of the day. When you open his pen, he races straight toward the door, realizes he got there faster than you, runs back to check in, then races right back to the door again. It is sweet, goofy, and completely endearing. ELI has a friend named FLOSSIE and spends time with her in the yard and on walks.
Ideal Home
A fenced yard is highly preferred so he can wander, sniff, lounge, and enjoy the outdoors safely.
Ongoing Health
ELI required an extended hospital stay to recover from his injuries.
Training & Support
Because of his size, strength, and excitement around some unfamiliar dogs, he can be difficult to socialize and will need thoughtful handling and careful introductions. ELI is one of the dogs who would most likely not have major house-training issues, though he may need some initial guidance.
