Meet Shakira! This sweet girl was found in Todos Santos, Mexico, in early 2025 and we estimate she was born in March of 2022. Weighing around 45 pounds, Shakira is patiently waiting for her forever family to find her, and is hoping they come just in time to celebrate the holidays with her!
Shakira was found by a local family in town and fostered by them until a spot opened at the shelter. She is now spending her days playing with her doggie friends and learning new skills, like how to walk on a leash without pulling and how to behave in a kennel. Shakira loves meeting new human friends but needs to be a little more careful when playing with her dog friends, as she has a tendency to play a bit on the rougher side. This can be intimidating to smaller dogs, but it's not on purpose; she just wants to have a good time! We think a home with children 12+ would be a good fit for Shakira, as she is a bit on the heavier side and has not been tested around small children. Shakira loves treats and cuddling, and we think she would LOVE to have weekly pup cups with her new family. This sweet gal would fit perfectly into almost any lifestyle, and we think she will love exploring the PNW this fall season with her new family.

Transporation
Shakira is currently located in La Paz, Mexico. She is ready to venture to the PNW if there is a dedicated foster or an adopter. Once a pup is picked for a new family, they can normally arrive to the PNW within 15 days. The adoption fee for Oregon, Washington, or California is $300 USD. This helps cover her vet and care costs in Mexico, and the transport fee to bring our pups over 1,500 miles to the PNW.
