Meet Ivan! This 1.5-year-old, 50-pound pittie/staffy-mix (rescue guess!) is a total goofball with a heart of gold. His giant ears give him an adorable deer-like appearance when he's curious, and his whole body wiggles with enthusiasm. Ivan loves everything, especially toys and water. He's a master at body-checking his herding ball and enjoys a good game of fetch, though he might decide to keep the toy for himself sometimes! He's a sweet and affectionate boy who warms up quickly, melting into cuddles once he knows you're his person. Ivan is treat-motivated and eager to learn, making training a fun and rewarding experience.
Ideal Home
Ivan would thrive in a home with a medium-energy female dog who enjoys playing but can also set boundaries when needed. He needs a feline-free home as he views cats as fun sprinting targets. While he's great with humans, he's still young and energetic, so an active family with older children who won't be knocked over during his zoomies would be ideal. He could learn to give younger children more space with time. A yard to burn off energy, an active adopter, someone who enjoys training and play, and clear boundaries and routine are all key for Ivan to thrive.
Ongoing Health
Ivan is a healthy boy ready for his forever home.
Training & Support
Ivan loves other dogs and is a social butterfly, but he's still learning to read the room. He can get a little too excited with playful dogs but happily takes breaks and checks in with gentle guidance. He respects confident female dogs who let him know when to chill. However, he can be a bit much for mellow or insecure dogs due to his bouncy nature. He would benefit from continued training to help him refine his social cues.
