Chelsea is a 2-year-old, 52-pound female Pit Bull Terrier mix who is ready to find her forever home! Chelsea and her puppy were found as strays and nursed back to health by a kind family. Now that her puppy has been adopted, it's Chelsea's turn for her happily ever after! She's fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. Chelsea is a super sweet and loyal girl with a heart full of love, known for her kisses and hugs. She's a happy-go-lucky dog who enjoys short walks, playing in the yard, and snuggling on the couch. Her foster mom describes her as a classic "nanny pittie" - nurturing, loyal, and protective, though she can be weary of strangers initially. Once she trusts you, she's incredibly affectionate and eager to please. She's food-motivated, making training a breeze, and has mastered sit, lie down, and shake. Chelsea has a playful side, enjoying toys and making her humans laugh with her silly antics. While she may have had an abusive past, making her cautious at times, she's incredibly smart and capable of learning anything you're willing to teach her. She truly shines once she forms a bond, offering immense affection, loyalty, and love.
Ideal Home
Chelsea would do best in a home with older children who can respect her boundaries and be patient with her. She would prefer a home without cats. She would love a companion dog, provided introductions are handled patiently and slowly.
Ongoing Health
Chelsea is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed.
Training & Support
Chelsea is fully potty-trained and crate-trained. She walks well on a leash and has mastered the "heel" command. She is generally uninterested in other dogs she sees on walks. Chelsea prefers not to have her food bowl bothered while she's eating. She prefers to be crated if strangers enter the home, though she will only bark and not lunge.
