Meet Berry!

Berry is a beautiful 8-week-old (as of July 12th) red Labrador Retriever puppy who, despite a challenging start, is full of life and determination. She was born with a severe spinal deformity, and while her future once seemed uncertain, her spirit shone through. Thanks to intensive physical therapy, Berry has already made incredible progress. She can stand, walk, run, and play on all four legs, though she's a bit wobbly. She is incontinent and wears diapers, and will likely need a wheelchair as she grows. An orthopedic specialist has confirmed her condition is not surgically correctable, but she is currently comfortable and non-painful. Her future family will need to monitor her comfort and quality of life as she develops, and ongoing physical therapy will be essential. Berry loves swimming, as it allows her to build strength and confidence. Despite her medical needs, Berry is a typical Lab puppy – happy, affectionate, playful, curious, and always ready for fun. She loves people, gets along well with dogs and cats, and approaches every day with enthusiasm.

She will be adopted on a spay contract as her spay will be delayed due to her medical condition.
