Gunner

Meet Gunner, a charming 5-year-old, 10-pound Dachshund with a big heart and a past he can't tell us about. Gunner's journey hasn't always been easy, and he's learned that new people can be a bit scary. He needs a little time to warm up and decide who he can trust. But once Gunner feels safe, his true, sweet, and incredibly loving personality shines through! He adores snuggling, going for walks, playing with toys, and cuddling with his foster siblings. He's looking for a calm home where someone is around often, ready for a loyal little shadow. Gunner also gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would be happiest with a friendly canine companion.

Ideal Home

Gunner thrives in a calm environment and would be happiest with middle-aged or senior adults, empty nesters, or someone with a quieter lifestyle. He strongly prefers the calm companionship of adults and is not the best fit for homes with children.

Ongoing Health

Gunner is partially potty trained, but he does mark in the home. Belly bands are currently being used successfully by his foster.

Training & Support

Gunner needs patience as he builds trust with new people. He is not the type of dog to greet strangers with enthusiasm, but he rewards those who earn his trust with a deep and meaningful bond.
