Lawrence: The Heartworm Hero With Bunny-Soft Fur and a Heart Full of Sunshine
Lawrence's story began in uncertainty — a young English Setter found as a stray, navigating the world alone far earlier than any pup should. But everything changed the day he got his freedom ride out of the shelter. Rescue stepped in, lifted him out of the unknown, and guided him through heartworm treatment with love, patience, and four months of crate rest. Today, Lawrence is a 1.5-year-old heartworm survivor, bursting with joy, confidence, and the kind of gratitude only a once-lost pup can carry. With heartworm treatment behind him, Lawrence is living like a dog who just discovered the meaning of happiness. His energy level is through the roof! Zoomies on top of zoomies, with a huge smile plastered across his face. Outside, he runs like he's making up for lost time — because he is. Inside, he's a snuggly, affectionate sweetheart who loves curling up with his humans and soaking in all the love he missed early in life.
Ideal Home
Lawrence will thrive with a family who understands his past, celebrates his present, and guides him gently into his future. He's eager to learn, eager to love, and eager to live the joyful life he deserves. He does well with a 5ft paddock fence (wood + wire). With time and confidence, he may be a good candidate for an e-fence, but he's not ready for that just yet.
Ongoing Health
Lawrence is a heartworm survivor! He has successfully completed heartworm treatment and is feeling fantastic. He is up-to-date on vaccines, neutered, and on Heartgard Plus & NexGard preventatives.
Training & Support
Lawrence is a smart boy with a big desire to please. He already responds to "Come" and "No." He learns quickly and will blossom with gentle guidance and consistency. He is very good in his crate, and it has become a familiar, comforting space for him. He does well on leash... unless a nutty squirrel appears. Then all bets are off, but he's working on it! He is a little skittish with new noises, but improving every day.
