About Poker - LONGTIME RESIDENT

Poker is a 2-year and 2-month-old Australian Cattle Dog mix who has been at the Kern County Animal Services shelter since May 30, 2026. He's a staff favorite and a real sweetheart with a goofy side that's sure to shine through once he's in a loving home. Poker participated in a Doggy Day Out and had a blast! His chaperone reported that Poker was a little unsure at first but quickly relaxed and showed off his playful personality. He rides well in the car, walks nicely on leash, and knows how to "sit." It's also likely he's potty trained. Poker enjoys the company of other dogs but seems to prefer calmer companions. While he's great with kids, he can be a bit mouthy during play, though always gentle. Poker remained unfazed even when fireworks went off during his outing, showing he's not easily spooked. We believe Poker will make an incredible companion for the right family once he has a chance to settle in and decompress.
