Rocky II is a handsome, intelligent, and affectionate 2-year-old, 55 lb. American Terrier mix who is eager to find his forever home! He came to us as a stray, a little underweight and with some scars, but thanks to the wonderful care he's received, he's gained weight and is healing beautifully. Rocky II is a bundle of energy and loves to play, especially fetching a tennis ball! He's a quick learner and already knows commands like "sit," "shake," and "lay down," and he's working on "roll over." He even has great table manners, sitting and waiting before his meals are served. While he's still getting the hang of leash walking, he's making great progress and would likely excel in training classes with his new family.
Ideal Home
Rocky II thrives on activity and would love a home where he can join in on adventures with his family. Because of his size and energy, a home without small children would be best. He gets along wonderfully with people and has enjoyed the company of every dog he's met. He would especially love an active canine sibling to run and play with! While he has shown gentle play with a small, blind dog, due to his size and energy, we recommend a home without cats. Rocky II has a history of scaling fences, so he needs a secure environment where he can be safely supervised to prevent him from wandering off again.
Ongoing Health
Rocky II is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all his vaccinations, heartworm preventative, and flea preventative.
Training & Support
Rocky II is doing very well with house training and is a good traveler in the car, always eager to join you. He's okay in a crate, though it's not his favorite spot. With his intelligence and eagerness to please, he's sure to continue learning new things with positive reinforcement and consistent guidance.
