Millie is a sweet senior who is starting to blossom after a rough start in life. She arrived at our rescue in very poor condition, severely matted and with overgrown nails that had grown through her pads. After a much-needed groom and veterinary care, including antibiotics and pain medication, Millie is feeling so much better and is on the road to recovery.
She was initially timid but is slowly becoming more curious about her surroundings. Millie doesn't like being picked up and can get a little feisty, which we believe is due to her recent discomfort and healing. She is also currently overweight, likely because she wasn't able to walk much with her painful nails. While she's still a bit protective of herself as she heals, she's getting ready to find her forever home very soon.
Millie is looking for a patient and loving adopter who can show her the kindness she deserves and spoil her, making up for years of neglect. Though she's a senior, she has many good years ahead and deserves to spend them filled with love and comfort. She's just waiting for the right family to give her a second chance.
Ideal Home
A patient adopter with lots of love to give, who will spoil her and help her feel safe and comfortable.
Ongoing Health
Millie is currently on antibiotics and pain medication. She is also overweight and will need to be on a diet. She has tested negative for heartworms.
Training & Support
Millie is still healing and can be protective of herself, especially when being picked up. Patience and understanding will be key to helping her build trust.
