About Dottie Mae: At shelter

Dottie Mae was found over a week ago by a citizen who couldn't keep her due to his own dogs' dislike of visitors. He did let us know that she was definitely a lapdog, and after her visit to Altavista Animal Clinic, we can attest to that! A large lap is preferred, but a small lap will be a good start in Dottie's eyes. Dottie Mae has a rotten tooth; it's most likely from chewing on wire, which many dogs do to escape confinement. All of her teeth are worn down, but this two-year-old has one that is partially broken off and painful. We've been treating it with antibiotics, and the best news is that tooth gets to come out on Monday! Dottie Mae appears to be house-trained and has not met a human she hasn't liked. It makes finding a home for well-socialized dogs so much easier. She adores playing ball in the yard and has fun as long as a family is nearby. She seems to be fine with other dogs.

Ideal Home

Dottie Mae needs a home with a loving family. We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice.

Ongoing Health

Dottie Mae has a painful, broken tooth that will be removed on Monday.
