Monte is a 7–8-year-old, 55-pound Australian Cattle Dog mix with a gentle, affectionate personality and a huge heart. After spending much of his life surviving neglect, he is ready for a soft bed, a consistent routine, and a family who will adore him.

Monte is a chill, easygoing companion who loves cuddles and is enjoying the comforts of home. His back legs are a little bow-legged, giving him a charming duck-like walk, and his teeth are sparse after years of trying to eat rocks. He has been evaluated by veterinarians and is considered a normal dog without special needs.

Ideal Home

Monte plays well with other dogs and has been completely fine with children. Because he can be mouthy during play and has cattle dog herding instincts, older, respectful children and a family familiar with herding breeds are recommended.

Ongoing Health

Monte is currently finishing heartworm treatment and is expected to be ready for transport in late September. His adoption fee includes transport to his forever family throughout the country.

Training & Support

Monte is almost completely house trained and does well with a consistent routine. He is fully crate trained and loves curling up in his cozy bed at night.
