Onyx likely had a bit of a rough start in life. She was rescued from the euthanasia list at an overcrowded shelter in Houston, but she's been shining ever since, showing everyone just how special she is. Currently being fostered in San Antonio, she's ready for transport to the right approved adopter.
Ideal Home
Onyx is an older lady with a touch of arthritis, so she enjoys a relaxed pace. She would thrive in a household with semi-active to low activity levels, where she can enjoy short walks and plenty of downtime. While she loves a good stroll, she's happy to settle in for pets and a cozy nap once she's had her fill of exercise. She enjoys being close to her people but prefers to sit beside you rather than on top of you.

Training & Support
Onyx is house-trained and sleeps in her crate at night by choice. She can be trusted in the house unsupervised, doesn't resource guard or show food aggression, and is not destructive. When meeting new dog friends on leash, she can get a little excited.

Transporation
Onyx is currently located in San Antonio, Texas. She can be transported out of state to approved adopters. Transports run every few weeks, and she will be scheduled for the next available transport once approved. If you are unable to accept a dog until a specific time, please apply at that time.
