Hi there! I'm Marvey, a young adult male dog with a heart full of love and energy to spare! I'm a mix of Collie, Pyrenees, and German Shepherd, and I'm a pretty big guy. I absolutely love being active, whether it's going for walks, runs, or learning new tricks. I get along great with other dogs and I'm always eager to invite them to play. I'm not sure about cats, but I'd probably be okay with a cat who understands dogs. I'm very friendly with respectful older kids, but I can sometimes get a little too excited and accidentally knock over younger children. I also tend to jump up when greeting strangers, but I'm working on it! I'm already potty trained and will let you know when I need to go out. While I'm a good boy, I get really nervous in crates, so I'd prefer a home without one. I'm happy to free-roam when you're not home. I do shed seasonally, so be prepared for a little extra fluff!
Ideal Home
My ideal home is one that can keep up with my need for activity, either through lots of outdoor time or engaging training sessions. I also love having canine friends and meeting new people, so a home that offers both would be wonderful! Due to my size and excitement, I'm best suited for a home with older children.
Ongoing Health
I've been treated for heartworm and will need to be retested at 6 months and 1 year post-treatment to ensure it was successful. I'll also need year-round heartworm preventative for life. I'm fixed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations for my age.
Training & Support
I know "sit," "lay down," and "shake," but I'm still practicing to get them right every time. I'm a smart cookie and motivated by tasty treats, though I can be a little picky! I'm working on not jumping up when greeting people.
