Bear

Bear is a 10-month-old Labrador Retriever mix, weighing 53 pounds, who is bursting with love, personality, and youthful energy. This sweet and friendly boy gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and children, and he truly enjoys being around everyone. Bear loves making new friends and is happiest when he has company.

Ideal Home

Bear has plenty of energy and needs a family prepared to provide ample exercise and mental stimulation. A home with another playful dog is highly preferred, or access to doggy daycare would be an excellent outlet for him. Yards MUST be adequately and fully fenced; electric or underground fences are not accepted.

Ongoing Health

Bear is fully vetted, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and kept on heartworm and flea prevention.

Training & Support

Bear is house-trained but not yet crate-trained. He does have food-related resource guarding, which is manageable with separate feeding and positive reinforcement training. This behavior is limited to feeding situations, and his tendency to resource guard should diminish as he builds confidence and trust.

Transporation

Bear is currently being fostered in Texas. Transport can be arranged for approved adopters to anywhere in the United States and Canada.
