Leia is a sweet and innocent female dog who was rescued along with 28 other dogs from a dire situation in North Alabama. She is approximately an adult and is a large mixed breed, weighing between sixty and ninety-nine pounds. Leia, along with her companions, is still learning about the world and is unsure about what has happened. She is not aggressive but is overwhelmed and a bit scared. At Big Dog Ranch, she is finally safe and is receiving the medical care, nutrition, and love she deserves. She is learning to trust and is discovering that gentle pets, kind voices, and warm hugs are a good thing. Leia is also learning how to walk on a leash for the first time.

Ideal Home

Leia is looking for a patient and loving home where she can continue to build her confidence and trust. She has been around other dogs and has done well.

Ongoing Health

Leia is receiving necessary medical care and is up-to-date on vaccinations. She has been spayed and neutered.

Training & Support

Leia is learning to walk on a leash and is slowly learning to trust people. She will need continued patience and positive reinforcement to help her blossom in her new home.
