Ranger

Ranger is a 3-year-old Catahoula mix who came to us from a shelter. He was previously adopted, but unfortunately, his owner had to move and could no longer keep him. Ranger is a sweet boy who enjoys a good cuddle and will happily share your bed if allowed. He's also a playful pup who loves to romp with his doggy friends, though he prefers to keep his own toys to himself.

Ideal Home

Ranger would thrive in a home with a family familiar with the Catahoula breed. He needs a structured environment where he can build trust with new people and visitors. Because he can be sensitive to handling around his neck and may get snappy if pushed too far too fast, he would do best in a home with older children, age 10 and up.

Ongoing Health

Ranger is neutered, fecal tested negative, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations and preventatives. He currently weighs 80 pounds and is looking to lose a little weight.

Training & Support

Ranger is house-trained and crate-trained. He enjoys playing with other dogs but needs to be sure his belongings are his own. His fosters recommend reading up on the transitional stages pets go through after adoption (3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months) to help him settle in smoothly.
