Knickelback is a 4-month-old, 20lb Australian Cattle Dog who was born in March 2026. He's an athletic, smart, and curious pup who loves to be involved in all the action. Knickelback is a professional snuggler and is looking for a lifelong adventure buddy! He's a ninja cuddler, able to teleport into your personal space and claim most of the mattress while you sleep. He enjoys treats, squeaky toys, and being your shadow. Knickelback is working on his potty and crate training and is doing well. His foster parent describes him as a laid-back boy who plays so he can nap. He loves to explore new places and meet new people.
Ideal Home
A home with herding dog experience would be a plus.
Ongoing Health
Knickelback is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, has been dewormed, and is on monthly preventatives. Spay/Neuter will be scheduled when age-appropriate and is covered in the adoption fee.
Training & Support
Knickelback is working on his potty and crate training and is doing well. We require that all adopters, regardless of the dog's age, are committed to ongoing training and socialization as part of responsible ownership.

- We conduct a vet reference check (all resident dogs must be altered/up to date on dhpp/rabies and monthly preventatives, and cats must be altered and up to date on rabies) and a virtual home visit call.
Transportation
Knickelback is being fostered in Richmond, VA. Adopters must be within a reasonable distance of Richmond or Virginia Beach to complete his spay/neuter with our approved clinics.
