About Rose Lavelle

Hello, my name is Rose Lavelle! I'm named after a phenomenal National Women's Soccer League player, and I like to think I share some of her amazing qualities. I've got a creative spark and a knack for surprising fun, just like my namesake! I absolutely love to play with balls and tug toys, and I've even been known to surprise the resident dog I live with!

I'm still learning the ropes, but I'm doing a great job walking nicely on a leash. I tend to stay close, so you might need to watch your step so you don't accidentally step on me! Potty training is going well, and I'm even starting to use the bells on the door to let my foster mom know when I need to go out. I'm a good girl in my crate, especially if it's covered with a blanket. I usually sleep through most of the night, though sometimes I get up for a little potty break. I also do well in my crate when my foster mom needs to leave, which she says is for my own good!

I live with my foster mom, a resident dog named Mr. Ted, and a rabbit. I also get to play with my foster mom's grandkids, and I have so much fun with them! However, my foster mom says I can't be left alone with them unsupervised because they are very young, and sometimes young children can make poor choices about how to play with a puppy. My foster mom is teaching me so many wonderful things, like how to walk on a leash, go potty outside, and sit for attention. I'm a super fast learner and enjoy exploring new things, like walking on different surfaces, going through tunnels, and even playing a piano!

I'm a very special girl because I am deaf. But don't worry, this is really no big deal! Most dogs learn best through body language, and I respond wonderfully to hand signals once I see you. My foster mom has a clever trick – she just touches my butt, and I look to her for direction! If I'm a bit too far away for a butt-touch, she stomps the floor, which gets my attention right away, and I come running! I have an abundance of love to give. Could you be the one to share it with forever?

Ideal Home

A home where I can continue to learn and grow. My foster mom says I can't be left alone with very young children unsupervised.

Ongoing Health

I am deaf, but this does not slow me down!

Training & Support

I am working on leash walking and potty training. I am learning to use the potty bells and respond well to hand signals and physical touch for direction. I am also learning to crate train.
