Dexter is a big, affectionate Alaskan Malamute–Akita mix who loves traveling, car rides, playtime, belly rubs, and being close to his person. He would make a loyal companion, including for someone who spends time on the road.

Ideal Home

Dexter needs a confident adopter familiar with his breeds who can provide patience, focused training, and consistent leadership. He likes other dogs and loves playing with puppies. He may do well with cats, but interactions should be monitored because he is a large, playful dog.

Ongoing Health

Dexter weighs approximately 80 pounds. He is neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Dexter is house trained and can hold it for 10 hours or more. He sits when asked and gives paw before receiving his food. He has made progress with leash walking and manners, but he is still working on jumping up, collar handling, mouthy play, attention barking, and food resource guarding. He enjoys hugs, kisses, and belly rubs.
