Wilma Flintstone is a 1-year-old, 10 lb. Chi/Terrier mix with a heart full of love and a past she's eager to leave behind. She was rescued just before being euthanized at a local shelter after sustaining a leg fracture. After receiving proper care and a splint, Wilma has blossomed into a happy, affectionate, and playful pup. She's a shy girl who warms up with time and is active with plenty of puppy energy. Wilma loves belly rubs, being a couch cuddler, going for walks, and playing fetch. She's food and treat motivated, a wonderful eater, and enjoys exploring the world around her. Wilma is making great progress with her potty training and responds well to encouragement, though she is still teething and learning.
Ideal Home
Wilma would do best in a home where she can continue to build her confidence, especially around men, as she shows initial fear. Because she has shown signs of separation anxiety and can be barky, she cannot be placed in an apartment setting at this time. While she can be an only dog or with another playful dog, she can show jealousy when another dog receives attention. Wilma has not been exposed to children and may not do well with small children as she still uses her teeth gently on humans.
Ongoing Health
Wilma previously suffered a fracture to her front left leg, which has been treated. She is otherwise a healthy pup.
Training & Support
Wilma is crate-trained and generally well-behaved when left alone. She is still working on potty training and can be a bit barky, showing signs of separation anxiety. Basic manners training is recommended. Consistency and positive reinforcement will help her continue to thrive.
