Rufus

Meet Rufus, a 2-year-old, 22lb bundle of joy! This fluffy Cockapoo/Shih Tzu mix is as smart as he is sweet, with a personality that shines. Rufus was found wandering the streets, a little scruffy but still wagging his tail. Now cleaned up and safe, he's revealed himself to be a clever, affectionate pup who just wants to love and be loved. At 22 pounds, he's the perfect size for cuddles without being too fragile, and he absolutely adores belly rubs!

Ideal Home

Rufus is great on a leash, knows "sit," and is eager to learn. He's crate trained and house-trained when kept on a schedule. He would thrive with another playful dog, but would also do well as an only dog with active humans. Due to his exuberance and need to polish his manners, he is best suited for a home with no children under 10.

Ongoing Health

Rufus is completely vetted and ready for his forever home. He has been neutered, microchipped, is heartworm negative, and up to date on all vaccines.

Training & Support

Rufus is not naughty, just exuberant! He comes when called and is always trying to figure things out. He wants to be a good boy and learns quickly because he cares. He would benefit from an adopter who understands he may need a little time to adjust and settle into his new family.

Transportation

Rufus is a Houston-based dog and is not at this location. He will require transport. Our rescue is based in and around Houston, TX, and we arrange transport for our dogs. Transport services include drivers who will provide real-time updates on your dog's journey to a location near you. Dogs are crated for their safety during transport.
