I'm Victor, an approximately 5-year-old, 44 lb bundle of fun! Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I'm so grateful to be here. I blossomed with attention from the volunteers and am now enjoying life in a wonderful foster home. I even participated in the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups training program, which was a fantastic experience! Now, I'm eagerly anticipating my forever family.
Ideal Home
I'm an active and playful guy who loves people and would do best as the only dog in the home. Cats are unknown. While I'm super excited and friendly, my exuberance can be a bit much for younger children. I'd be happiest with kids 15 and older who understand my playful, occasionally mouthy nature and won't be overwhelmed by my strength. It would be best if children do not walk me due to my strength and dislike of other dogs.
Ongoing Health
I'm up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. I'm currently managing some leg challenges, including luxating patellas, torn CCLs in my rear legs, and hip dysplasia. An orthopedic specialist has determined that complex surgeries aren't the best path for me, so we're managing my condition medically for the best quality of life. I'm on medication, and while my mobility varies, it's very manageable. Please ask for more details about my specific needs and medications.
Training & Support
Thanks to the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups program, I've mastered commands like sit, stay, down, come, drop it, leave it, and place. I also have excellent manners with doors, leashes (I use a gentle leader well), and greeting new people without jumping. I even know fun tricks like "bang bang" and "play dead"! We can continue my training with the free lifetime classes offered by Mostly Mutts. I can get a little mouthy when excited, but I'm easily redirected with a toy or ball, and my trainers can show you the best techniques.
