Flora, a 3-year-old spayed female Carolina Dog mix weighing 46 pounds, is a bundle of playful energy ready to find her forever home! Affectionately known as Flora, Flory, Lory, or Sweetpea, she absolutely adores wrestling and being chased, and would do well with a canine companion of similar size and energy. Flora has experience playing with dogs of various sizes and truly enjoys interacting with other dogs, even showing affection by licking their faces. She's a total love bug who enjoys snuggling, sunbathing, birdwatching, and car rides. While she's a work in progress, Flora is smart, loves learning new tricks, and is very submissive and affectionate. She's fully housebroken and can be left unsupervised outside of a crate with no issues, and she shares her toys well.
Ideal Home
Flora would thrive in a moderately active home with someone who is often around and enjoys playtimes, walks, or jogs. She'd do best in a home without other pets, or with a well-balanced dog of similar age, size, and energy level. She has shown some nervousness around new children and strangers who move quickly, so an adult-only household might be best at this time. Flora can be scared of storms and will seek comfort, so a home where she can feel safe is important.

Training & Support
Flora can exhibit leash reactivity, which has been worked on by her foster parents. She requires slow and guided introductions to new dogs. She has shown some anxiety in a crate at home, though she's fine when boarded. She needs gentle reminders to take treats softly.

Transporation
Flora is currently in a foster home in Houston, Texas. She can be transported out of state once an adopter is approved. Transports run every few weeks, and she will be placed on the next available transport after approval.
