Meet Grover Chillington!

Grover's journey began in a high-kill shelter in Houston. He was placed on the euthanasia list after only a few weeks, but thankfully, a wonderful foster family stepped in to give him a second chance. Grover is pure perfection and a true testament to the resilience of rescue dogs.

Initially aged at 6 years old by the shelter due to his calm demeanor, multiple vet visits have since determined Grover to be around 2-3 years old, and definitely no older than 3. Weighing in at about 48 pounds, he's the ideal medium-sized companion. Grover is a very good boy with an old soul.

He thrives on spending time with his people and loves being part of the family's activities. Whether it's relaxing in the backyard, accompanying you on a neighborhood stroll, or finding the coziest spot for a nap, Grover is content. He enjoys exploring outdoors but isn't looking for a high-energy athletic partner. A few daily walks and quality time with his family are all that make this sweet boy happy. His foster family, who live on a farm, have observed that even with free roam of the property, Grover stays close, never straying from his foster dad's view. He's as well-behaved off-leash as he is on.

Grover is perfectly house-trained and exhibits excellent house manners. He settles nicely indoors, gets along with everyone he meets, is not destructive, and truly appreciates a comfortable bed after a day of adventures.

Ideal Home

An ideal home for Grover would be one filled with plenty of affection, a soft place to sleep, and people who cherish having a devoted canine companion by their side. He might be a little shy initially, but within minutes, he'll be rolling over for belly rubs. Grover has done well with other dogs, farm animals, and enjoys meeting new friends. He possesses a gentle, friendly nature and quickly wins over both people and animals with his charming personality. We suspect he might be a hound/cattle dog mix, but his exact breed is a mystery. He's not a big barker and has a lower energy level, making him a unique find if those are indeed his breeds!

Ongoing Health

Grover is currently finishing up his heartworm treatment and will be ready to travel to his forever home in July. He is a true gem – the easiest and most loving guy around. Whoever adopts Grover will be incredibly lucky, as he is simply impossible not to love.

Training & Support

Grover is house-trained and has excellent house manners. He settles nicely indoors, gets along with everyone he has met, and is not destructive.

Transporation

Grover is currently being fostered in Houston, TX, but is available for adoption nationwide! Transport options are available to your area. The adoption fee is $600, which includes transport costs. Grover is also fully vaccinated, on prevention, microchipped, and neutered.
