Charlie is a sweet, energetic boy with a fun-loving personality. He was sadly left at a shelter and ended up on the euthanasia list due to lack of space, but thankfully he was given a second chance and is now ready to find his forever home. Charlie is a Black Mouth Cur/Lab mix weighing 85–90 pounds and approximately 1½ years old. He absolutely loves playing ball and will happily chase and return any ball for another throw—except tennis balls! Those are his favorite, and he enjoys a good game of keep-away with them. He's up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, crate trained, and fully potty trained. Charlie rides well in the car and does not struggle with anxiety. He's a very smart boy and already knows several commands, including heel, sit, come, stay, off (no jumping), and nice/gentle when taking treats. He is still working on “down.”
Ideal Home
Charlie would do best in a home with teenage children or adults, as he may accidentally knock over small kids in his excitement. He would thrive with an active single person, couple, or family who enjoys outdoor adventures. He would make an excellent hiking or running partner. He tends to prefer female dogs over males. His high energy level may be a bit much for a feline companion. No tie-outs or electric fences.
Ongoing Health
Charlie is up to date on vaccinations and is heartworm negative.
Training & Support
Charlie knows several commands and is eager to learn more. He could easily excel in advanced training, agility, or even protection work. He is still working on the "down" command.
