Welcome Sweet Dexter to the Save Monroe Strays Family!

How adorable is this little guy?! Please help us welcome Dexter, a handsome young Corgi who is already stealing hearts. Dexter is approximately 1 year old, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated, and he's settling into foster care wonderfully. He's a sweet, slightly submissive, middle-of-the-pack kind of boy who seems to enjoy the company of just about everyone he meets. Dexter appears to be a purebred Corgi, so we anticipate receiving a large number of applications. Our volunteers will carefully review each application and select the homes that appear to be the best fit before scheduling meet-and-greets. As an entirely volunteer-run rescue, we truly appreciate your patience. While we'll do our best to answer questions, we simply won't be able to respond individually to every application.

Ideal Home

While Corgis may be short in stature, they are not couch potatoes! Dexter is looking for an active home that can provide plenty of daily exercise, mental enrichment, structure, and patience as he settles into his forever family. If you're looking for a dog to join you on adventures, learn new things, and keep life entertaining, Dexter just might be your perfect match. Dexter is currently thriving in a foster home with a cat, two small dogs, and children.

Dexter is approximately 1 year old, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated.

Training & Support

Dexter appears to be mostly potty trained, though he is currently marking occasionally, so we recommend using a belly band while he continues to adjust. Dexter plays well with other dogs and has done great with every person he's met so far.
