Teresa is a loving, gentle, and intelligent Labrador mix who is approximately 4 years old and weighs about 42 lbs. She has been patiently waiting for a family to call her own. Teresa is sociable and enjoys human companionship. While she may be a bit cautious and shy at first, this is due to a fear of rejection. Once she feels safe, her true affectionate and playful personality shines through, and she absolutely adores being petted and cuddled. Teresa has a history of resilience; she was found tied to a tree with a wire that had cut deeply into her neck, but even then, she never resisted help. She was treated for her injuries, which left a scar, but it never affected her sweet spirit. She is described as a wonderful, obedient, affectionate, and very smart dog who prefers peace and harmony.
Ideal Home
Teresa would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard. She needs an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a genuine intention to rescue a dog, understanding the needs of street animals. Experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, or a commitment to hiring a trainer. High tolerance and patience are essential for this intelligent dog.
Ongoing Health
Teresa has a scar on her neck from a past injury. Her health protocol includes being spayed, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, microchipped, and tested for 4DX and heartworm (negative). She is on monthly preventive protection for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. She has a health certificate and vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Teresa is not fully house-trained and may need significant patience and understanding as she adjusts to a new environment. She walks on a leash with guidance and is learning to follow her handler. She may feel nervous in a crate at first but settles down. Applicants must have high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies and be willing to work on training or hire a professional trainer.
