Sentry is a 6.5-month-old, male Retriever/Pit Bull mix who currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued with his mom and siblings from a rural area outside of Houston, Texas. Sentry is a happy, affectionate, and playful puppy who loves people and other dogs. He is potty trained and eager to learn. Sentry is outgoing, friendly, and always ready to make a new friend. He has been around children and has done well.
Ideal Home
We prefer a home with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help Sentry learn appropriate play and communication. If you don't currently have a dog, we would love to hear your plan for continued socialization, which could include structured training classes, playdates, or supervised daycare. We also prefer homes where someone is not routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time, as Sentry will continue to benefit from regular potty breaks, exercise, enrichment, training, and human interaction.
Ongoing Health
Sentry is up-to-date on vaccinations and is microchipped.
Training & Support
Sentry is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization with new people, places, sounds, and friendly dogs is crucial for building his lifelong confidence.
