Wylie is a lovable, easy-going companion. Whether he's joining you for a leisurely walk, riding along in the car, or relaxing on the couch beside you - Wylie is just content simply being part of the family. He was originally adopted from us 4 years ago and has come back due to changes in his family's circumstances, with no fault of his own. Wylie is house-trained, microchipped, and has his core vaccinations.
Wylie is a well-mannered boy who walks well on a loose leash and takes the world in stride. In the home, Wylie is an affectionate and easy-going guy. He likes to watch the world go by outside, quietly looking out the front door. He enjoys car rides, being brushed, and getting pets. Every now and then, this otherwise laid-back boy gets a burst of excitement and breaks into a joyful sprint that is guaranteed to make you smile!
Ideal Home
Wylie enjoys his daily walks but is happiest with shorter outings rather than long hikes; however, a few extra treats have left him with some fluff around the middle, so longer or more frequent walks would be a good goal for him. He would do well in a home with access to a yard or green space close by. He was temporarily in a foster home in a condominium with an elevator and was very nervous of it, as well as the very busy downtown neighborhood. He gets along well with other pets, and if his adopter already has a dog or cat, we will arrange for a meet and greet. He has lived with children before and did well.
Ongoing Health
Wylie has a condition called diabetes insipidus, but managing it is easy with one eye drop daily, and Wylie enjoys life just like any other dog. The medication costs $80 a month.
Training & Support
Wylie does not like loud noises and seeks out a quiet hiding spot during loud noises such as thunderstorms or fireworks. He has not shown any signs of resource guarding, separation anxiety, or reactivity.
