Roosevelt is a handsome Border Collie mix who wandered into our yard in the late summer and quickly captured our hearts. He's estimated to be middle-aged, around 5-7 years old, and weighs a healthy 40-45 pounds. Roosevelt is a sweet boy who loves to give full-waist hugs and enjoys sleeping on a pillow near the door. He's house-trained and leash-trained, making him a pleasant companion for walks and indoor living.
Ideal Home
Roosevelt would do best in a home with a bit more calm than our busy household provides. He's good with children of all abilities and generally okay with other dogs, though he might prefer being the sole canine companion or with just one other dog, as our current pack of four can be overwhelming for him. While he coexists peacefully with our cats, he does exhibit a strong prey drive if they run, so a home without cats would likely be ideal for everyone's well-being. He's also shown bravery around our birds in the yard but is uncomfortable staying outside or in the barn at night without people, indicating he thrives on indoor living or close companionship.
Ongoing Health
Roosevelt was vetted and neutered on September 3, 2025. All our animals are spayed/neutered, have current rabies certification and tags, are up-to-date on other vaccinations, microchipped, have tested negative for heartworm, and are wormed every four weeks while in our care.
Training & Support
Roosevelt is already house-trained and leash-trained. He is a bit fearful of being alone outside at night and prefers to be indoors or with people.

Transportation
Roosevelt is located just east of Shawnee. We are approximately one hour from Oklahoma City or Tulsa. We are open by appointment from 8 AM to 5 PM. Sorry, we do not ship dogs.
