Born outside during a cold Ontario winter, Egg is a survivor thanks to her amazing Mom who almost lost her life caring for her pups. Mom is a middle-aged dog that solely lived outside and was nothing but skin and bones when she and her litter of puppies arrived into rescue care. Mom and some of the other littermates joined other rescues, and Mattie's Place welcomed Egg and her sister Nog. Egg's mom has a DNA test that shows she is 50% Rottweiler, 30% Labrador Retriever, and 19% American Pit Bull Terrier. Dad is unknown.
Egg was born on November 25, 2025. On arrival, she weighed 3 pounds. She is flourishing and is estimated to be around a 60-pound adult dog. She has sadly grown up in rescue, and that's such a shame for her and her sister Nog. Egg is a calm, sweet pup waiting to find her perfect adoption match. She can be shy for a minute when meeting new people, but it doesn't take her long to warm up. She's great with everyone, including men, women, and children. With proper introductions so she's not intimidated, she's great with dogs. She is fully cat-tested and plays gently and lovingly with cats. Egg is full of love to give and expresses it through kisses; she's a very smoochie girl.
Egg was spayed on June 8th and is otherwise completely up-to-date medically with all rounds of puppy vaccines, including rabies, multiple rounds of dewormer, and monthly parasite prevention. She was fully housetrained, but accidents with puppies will happen when moving to a new home. She'll need to learn where your "out" is and how to navigate your home to potty outside. You will both need to learn how to communicate with one another to understand when she has to potty.
Ideal Home
Egg will need someone home most often so she can learn all she needs to learn at this informative stage in her life. She will fit into most lifestyles, including homes with kids, dogs, and cats.
Ongoing Health
Egg is up-to-date on all vaccinations and has received regular deworming and parasite prevention. She was spayed on June 8th.
Training & Support
An adopter willing to work with a professional trainer is a preference so she will grow into a respected adult dog. She is learning that people can be kind, and she thrives in a calm, loving environment and responds beautifully to routine and positive interactions. She just needs a little understanding at first and, in return, she gives her whole heart.
