Iris is a loving, intelligent, and deeply devoted dog who was found on the streets four months ago and has since shown just how special she is, especially with children. She has basic obedience training, is fully potty trained, crate trained, leash trained, and walks in perfect rhythm right by your side. Iris is affectionate, gentle, playful, and a true lap dog who wants to be in your bubble at all times, loving nothing more than cuddling with her people, hoarding stuffies and blankets, and showing off her adorable “pittie nibble.” She is very protective and loyal, particularly with kids, but can be sensitive to loud noises, sudden movements, and surprises, which may cause her to bark or act defensively. Iris does not get along with cats or other dogs and has shown food-related aggression toward other animals, though she allows people to handle her food and can be hand-fed without issue. She would do best in a single-family home with no other pets, where she can have structure, consistency, and continued training with an experienced owner. Iris is being rehomed solely due to her unpredictable reactivity with other animals and surprise triggers, and while her family loves her dearly, they want to ensure she is placed in a home where she can feel secure, supported, and thrive—she will return that effort with unwavering loyalty and unconditional love.
