Littles

Littles is a sweet and friendly over 1-year-old Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel looking for her forever home. She had a rough start in life, experiencing aspiration at a young age which required extensive care. Thanks to her loving breeder, she has made a full recovery and is now ready to embark on her next adventure. Littles is a playful pup who enjoys playtime and cuddling. She gets along well with other dogs and would likely thrive in a home with canine companions.

Ideal Home

Littles would be happiest in a home with at least one other dog to play with. She needs a patient and happy owner who can help her grow into the perfect house dog. Because of a health condition, she should not participate in high-impact sports or be a jogging partner and needs to be kept at a healthy weight.

Ongoing Health

Littles has been DNA health tested and is genetically clear of DM and MCADD. She has one copy of a gene that she can pass to puppies if bred, but is incapable of developing these disorders herself and should be healthy for life. Her parents are also genetically clear of EF and DE/CC. She has a condition called "slipping hocks," which is similar to double-jointedness in humans and carries a small risk of injury. She will receive a full orthopedic vet check in mid-May, and results will be available to interested adopters. Littles will be spayed prior to going home.

Training & Support

Littles is house-trained but requires frequent potty breaks (every 2-3 hours). She is also crate-trained and sleeps in her crate, though she may scratch at the bottom occasionally. She is still very much a puppy and needs plenty of chew toys to keep her from chewing on household items. Littles benefits from positive reinforcement and short, upbeat grooming sessions, especially for her nails and hair. She would also benefit from obedience training to learn to sit patiently for pets and treats.
