Loki

Meet Loki! This 3-year-old Terrier mix weighs approximately 11 pounds and is ready to be your loyal best friend. Loki has a charming wire-haired coat and a gentle soul. He gets along wonderfully with dogs, children, men, and women, and his calm demeanor means he enjoys staying close to his favorite people. A true road warrior, Loki’s favorite pastime is car rides, watching the world go by. While he can be a bit shy and cautious when meeting new people, a kind word and a little patience will quickly reveal his sweet, tail-wagging personality. Loki adores affection and loves to be petted and held. He’s an easygoing companion who walks quietly by your side, content to simply be part of your day. Loki’s journey began when he was found wandering near a school in Saltillo, Mexico. Concerned for his safety, he was taken to a veterinary clinic for care, but was never reclaimed. We were able to take him into our rescue program, where he received the veterinary attention and love he deserved. Now, Loki is healthy, safe, and eagerly awaiting a loving family to call his own. He’s looking for a patient adopter who will give him the time he needs to feel secure and who will cherish having a devoted companion.

Ideal Home

Loki would thrive in a home with an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a fenced backyard. He needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue a dog and an open mind about the unique behaviors and needs of street animals. Previous experience with dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, is highly desired. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are essential.

Ongoing Health

Loki has received a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccinations, Bordetella vaccination, deworming, and microchipping. He has tested negative for heartworm and has had a 4DX test. He is currently on monthly preventive protection (Nexgard Spectra).

Training & Support

Loki is not house-trained. It is important to understand that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period and may have fears or anxieties due to past experiences. Patience, understanding, a safe and loving environment, and establishing a routine are crucial for his adjustment and to build a strong bond.

Transporation

Loki is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. He is available for transport to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. A transport fee of $400 USD covers door-to-door delivery. Our transport company organizes 3-4 trips per year, collecting adopted pets in Mexico and escorting them across the border into Texas for US adoptions. For Canadian adoptions, pets are delivered to the nearest US-Canada border. You will receive real-time updates throughout the journey in a private Facebook Messenger group.
