Penny is a gorgeous Rhodesian Ridgeback mix weighing approximately 50 lbs, and she's the sweetest girl! At about 1 year and 3 months old, Penny was found in January 2026 in a cemetery with over a dozen other dogs, where she had to fend for herself. Despite her tough beginnings, this awesome girl absolutely loves other dogs, big and small, and enjoys playing gently with pigs too. She can be a bit shy at first, but quickly warms up to become your loyal best friend. Penny is very active and loves to romp and play, especially tug-of-war with her doggy friends.
Ideal Home
Penny would thrive in an active home with another dog to play with and tire her out. She loves adventures and wants to be your shadow! Given her tendency to explore, a securely fenced yard is a must, as she has shown a talent for escaping a 4-foot fence.
Ongoing Health
Penny is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and dewormer treatments. She is heartworm positive and has completed a 30-day course of antibiotics. She will need to remain on heartworm prevention for 12-16 months and be retested at that time. She will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport.
Training & Support
Penny is MOSTLY house trained and will need consistency to achieve 100% mastery. She walks okay on a leash but will need more practice to become perfect. Her recall is great once she's familiar with the area.
